Post-Op

We had Anna Ward's post-op appointment and it went so well. The surgeon said she only lost 2 to 3 stitches in the very back and that is to be expected (esp. with such a large cleft). She is making a lot more noise...another good sign because she has realized that she no longer has a huge hole in her mouth. We will have another surgery this summer to finish the palate, make the lip look prettier, and do dental work...they found a lot of teeth buds during surgery (which is good news but what do we do with the teeth now b/c they are coming in sideways). Those 10 days post surgery were very hard for AW and for us...but at least now we know what to expect and the surgeon said this next surgery will be much easier for us all!!

Anna Ward has an evaluation at the new feeding clinic on 1/13...she is still only on liquids and will not take anything else. Please pray with us that this specialized group will have good answers and be able to make progress. Love to you all...

I am glad to hear your post op went well and she is making more sounds. They are precious to hear! Hope all goes well with the upcoming appointment.

Great news! I hope the feeding appointment goes well. She's missing out on so many yummy things :-) it must be frustrating that she struggles so much. But who could blame her with all that poor little mouth has been through. Will pray for solid food!
